Mr. Tabish Abrar Ahmed
What made you come into this hobby and when did you start?
Ans: When I was in 9th grade, I once went to PAF base Shahrah-e-Faisal where Mr. Adeem was giving a demo. I found his shop, and with his excellent guidance, learned to fly.
What do you enjoy the most in this hobby? Is it designing, building or flying?
TAA: Flying off-course, but designing and building also gives me immense satisfaction.
Any interesting story that you want to share with rcpak.com users?
TAA: Well, I have one concerning my friend Mr Jamshed Ishrat, at the APAMA Nationals he put his .32 powered fun fly plane on the ground without turning on the Rx switch and it went full throttle first at Mr. Habib, who I pushed out of the way.. then it went screaming towards Dr. Isa’s wife who was standing in our club house. Luckily, the plane hit the stairs and its engine died, so no damage!! It was Funny though !. Always check the controls before take off and always start your engine at low throttle !
How many aircraft have you bought/build? Walk us through these aircraft's their specs. and your experiences.
TAA: Too many to mention and even remember! I have been flying since 84 when I was in 10th grade. I don’t remember how many I have build but I have purchased only a few. I am a scratch builder who usually draws / enlarges his own plans from scale 3 views or from magazines. and then builds and flies my own creations. My latest was my 50 cc pattern bird, countermeasure which I designed myself. The pictures are also available on facebook. I recently designed and build an f-16, based on scale 3 view drawings and built by carving blue and white foam and then covering it with brown paper. (pictures attached)
Are you a club member. When did you join this club?
TAA:Yes, I am an active member of MASK. (model aeronautical society of Karachi)
Which is your favorite aircraft and why?
TAA: My current favorite is the pattern bird, INTEGRAL. And my all time favorite would be the f-16.
Tell us about your positions in the past aeromodelling competitions.
